My name is Patricia C. Just when a feeling of hopelessness engulfed me, I received a message from James Pino with EDL offering me financial help. This was truly an answer to my prayers and I can’t begin to express my gratitude. I am 67 and my husband is 71, we are retired and our only income is Social Security. It is a daily struggle just trying to make ends meet. Bills keep piling up and some go unpaid. We are also raising an 8 year old grandson which makes for an even tighter budget. It is so good to know there are real people like you who want to help others and I want to thank everyone at EDL for your generosity.

The founder of EDL personally knows how far help can go. In the middle of law school, 2010, he suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury. He had to relearn how to do the most basic activities like walking or talking. With self determination and help from therapy and the department of assistive and rehabilitative services (DARS), he graduated law school and created this nonprofit. Without help, he firmly believes things would have turned out much different. That is why EDL wants to help. We know firsthand how much of a difference it makes.
